This video-performance arose from the need to seek contact with the Medellín River and its affluent bodies of water, resorting to a tradition that until the last century was common within the Aburrá Valley, washing clothes by hand at the banks of rivers. The scene is recreated using a protective suit that isolates me from the harmful materials found in one of the most polluted streams in the city: La Altavista - a channeled river with a long history of abundant residual waste and violence coming from the neighborhood of the same name, through which it runs. The paradoxical landscape created from this action in this particular body of water gives light not only to current environmental conditions seen almost universally throughout Latin America, but also shows the privilege of the common citizen, since the vast majority of the population does not require or wish to have contact with these waters that were previously recreational meeting points for family and friends.
